Why is this the case, given that there are more women than men in Poland? We need to look at this issue through the prism of stereotypes, differences in upbringing, and gender bias. Women in IT receive too little support and are sometimes simply invisible in organizational structures. The numbers speak for themselves&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Do you want to change this and try your hand at management? Did your path from junior to specialist go smoothly, and now the hard part is beginning? We can do it! Find out how a specialist differs from a manager, what knowledge you should acquire, and how to attract a promotion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The difference between a specialist and a manager.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When discussing the difference between a specialist and a manager in the IT industry, we can look at three areas: domain specialization, business results orientation, and soft skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Domain specialization, i.e., knowledge in a specific field, is obviously the basis for becoming a specialist. When entering a managerial role, our involvement should move away from domain specialization and toward management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the role of a manager, it becomes very important to focus on business results and understand how the work of an individual employee or an entire team affects customer value and the overall success of the company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that in addition to technical and business skills, employers increasingly value soft skills. Team management, problem solving, and the ability to express one&#8217;s own needs and expectations are key elements that determine the success of a female manager in IT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How can you help yourself get promoted?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First, you need to train your courage and be ready to talk to your boss about your aspirations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, you need to keep learning, take initiative, but also know how to balance your actions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It is also important to seek mentoring and learn how to express your needs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the road to promotion can be difficult, don&#8217;t lose faith. There are various ways to develop leadership skills and obtain the desired managerial position.
