One where you do tasks you enjoy; where you go in a direction you believe in; where overcoming difficulties gives you satisfaction and fulfillment. Think of the energy you would start your day with, knowing that you are thriving in a workplace tailored to you&#8230;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/talenti.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/Grafika-w-tekscie-Personality-questionnaires-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Well, exactly &#8211; a place tailored to your needs, not skills.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matching one&#8217;s skills to the requirements of the market is needed to be able to select between job offers. We learn languages, programmes, tools and approaches. Some come easier to us, others more difficult, but let&#8217;s agree &#8211; most are manageable. They just take time and energy. Now you may ask &#8220;but who knows what is worth learning and what to spend that time and energy on?&#8221;. You do! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>My career needs and aptitudes<\/strong><br><\/strong>What happens if we put the employer&#8217;s expectations of our skills at the centre of our thinking? We acquire the right qualifications for the job, we apply and we get the job. You might say &#8216;mission accomplished&#8217;, but after all, the mission has only just begun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Different types of tasks lie ahead: working with people or individually; a quick pace or monotony; initiating novelty or coolly assessing risks&#8230; We could multiply examples endlessly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Will each of these tasks come to us with the same ease? Probably not. Some we will happily get down to, others we will have to invest more energy in. Some roles will come naturally to us, others will be more difficult to find ourselves in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>This is where our professional predispositions become apparent.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That is our talents, abilities, character traits or strengths that can be used at work. What we like and dislike, too. All these qualities influence which coping mechanisms we will choose when faced with a challenge. Which and how much of our internal resources we will need to engage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is why it is so important to keep increasing your awareness of your own professional predispositions, and consequently work-related needs. This is when observation questionnaires come to the rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>What do observational personality questionnaires really test?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s debunk the first myth about personality questionnaires &#8211; they are not tests that you can pass or fail. There is no passing or failing result. Instead, we find out what behaviours and reactions are more or less natural for us as compared to others<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes we will find out the degree of intensity of certain traits, for example, extroversion and introversion. Sometimes we will find out what kind of intrinsic motivation is strong in us and which is weaker, for instance, the need for beauty and the need for achievement. From some, we will learn more about our thinking style and action style etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/talenti.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/1-2-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Information obtained from personality questionnaires<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>All this provides us with valuable information about ourselves.<\/strong><\/strong><br>Since we are doing so well, let&#8217;s debunk the second myth &#8211; the results of questionnaires are not ultimate truths. You may disagree with them, or have different observations about yourself. This will also give you an interesting area to reflect on. If you&#8217;re serious about mapping your aptitude, it&#8217;s worth contacting certified coaches to discuss the results with you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A third myth to debunk &#8211; thinking or acting styles that are natural to you do not mean that alternatives are unattainable. Tests that determine such things show us how much energy we need to put into a task of a certain nature or whether certain behaviours and roles will come to us automatically or with more effort. Why do they come up in the recruitment process?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, during the recruitment process, a potential employer may ask us to complete a personality questionnaire. Knowing what kind of information a questionnaire is supposed to provide, we can guess why the employer needs to know that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Suppose you were asked to fill in a questionnaire showing dominant types of intrinsic motivation (e.g. Reiss Motivation Profile\u00ae). Such a questionnaire will help the employer create a personal development plan or motivation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The results of a specific tool are square one of teamwork<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Building an effective team that can deliver high-quality results is quite a challenge. Questionnaires can help managers strike a balance in areas such as: team members&#8217; talents; mental resilience versus team sensitivity; openness to novelty versus caution; focus on detail versus the big picture; etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/talenti.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/3-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Why does an employer need my personality questionnaire results?<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How can questionnaires help you?<br><\/strong>At the very beginning of your adventure with personality questionnaires, a wide range of expressions and descriptions of a person&#8217;s character and aptitudes are revealed to you. You can use them when writing your CV or taking part in job interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that just as an employer is looking for a good fit, you are looking for the right job for you. By knowing your needs and aptitudes, you can anticipate in advance whether a role will help you grow or generate frustrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The questionnaires also give you insight into the areas you could work on, which you should watch out for or where you can still test yourself.
