Have you ever come across the statement that we have an employee’s market these days? That jobs are lying on the street, waiting to be picked up, but few people want to work? That all you have to do is want it and the job will find itself? This is all true. Partially, at least. But… yeah, exactly. There’s that “but” again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking for a job is not always quick and easy. It may not be pleasant, either. A lot depends on whether you prepare yourself properly for this activity. Yes, yes – you need to prepare for job searching. So it already requires a lot of effort. As my mother tends to say: no pain, no gain?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don’t want to prepare appropriately because you don’t have the time, you don’t want to, or you can’t be bothered with such silly things etc., then at least remember the golden rules that will ascertain you don’t get the job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Send out dozens, hundreds of the same CVs.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Everywhere you can. Write the same thing, no matter what position or industry you are applying for. In addition, don’t fill out a recruitment form that is available for interested candidates. Oh, and if the employer requires a cover letter, by all means do not include it with your application. After all, cover letters are a relic….<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Forget which company you sent your application to<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Don’t make note of it and certainly forget which company you sent your application documents to. Don’t write down the advertisements you are responding to. If a recruiter calls, greet them with a voice full of indignation: “I certainly didn’t send my CV to THAT company!”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Search briefly and quickly<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Waste a lot of time scrolling through all possible job search sites. Search them from page 1 to the last page and over again. Every day. Remember, only search for jobs this way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Come unprepared for the interview<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If despite everything you are invited to an interview, come unprepared. Just like that, without thinking about what to say and how to behave. Of course, don’t bring your application documents, references or diplomas, or don’t prepare a list of questions for the recruiter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Be late<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Be late, forget what company you are supposed to go to. Forget what the company is called and who you have an appointment with. Or forget the meeting at all and don’t inform the recruiter that you are not coming. This is an extremely effective method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Come to the interview inappropriately dressed.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It could be a tracksuit, beachwear, a dress with a train, a miniskirt and stilettos which you don’t know how to move in. Take your pick – oh yes! There is a lot to pick from. Preferably, make it vivid and flamboyant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Don’t care about personal branding and social media<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Negate the role of social media and personal branding in the job search process. Stick to your guns and don’t let them tell you that it’s a good idea to look after your online image, be on industry portals or appear at networking events to build relationships with employers and look for potential clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
