You are the future of the labour market! Which professions are gaining and which are losing ground?
The world of work is evolving, and we must evolve with it. As women, we have unique skills and perspectives that are extremely valuable in today’s job market. The key to success will be continuous learning, flexibility and a willingness to take on new challenges. Which directions are worth pursuing?
The latest ‘Future of Jobs Report 2025’ from the World Economic Forum sheds light on the jobs of the future and the challenges we face. Let’s take a closer look at these trends and consider how we can use them to our advantage.

Jobs of the future
The report identifies five of the fastest-growing professions:
- Big data specialists
- FinTech engineers
- AI and machine learning experts
- Software engineers and developers
- Security specialists
These tech roles are growing the fastest in percentage terms. It is crucial that women have equal opportunities and are encouraged to develop in all sectors of the economy, especially in high-paying and technology-related fields. According to McKinsey’s ‘Women in the Workplace 2024’ report, companies with greater gender diversity at the management level achieve better financial results.
Challenges in the labour market
Unfortunately, women still face inequalities in the labour market. Although they earn more bachelor’s and master’s degrees than men, they account for only 48% of those entering the corporate job market. What’s more, when it comes to first promotions to managerial positions, only 81 women are promoted for every 100 men.
This is your chance!
Women make up only 26% of employees in the AI sector. Increasing this number is crucial for creating more sustainable and inclusive technological solutions. The financial sector is undergoing a digital transformation, creating new opportunities for women with analytical and technological skills.
Green energy and sustainable development are also rapidly growing sectors where women can use their skills in engineering, science and project management. Keep an eye on what is happening in cybersecurity too – only 24% of professionals in this field are women, and it is an area with huge growth potential and high salaries.
It is important that women choose career paths based on their interests, skills and aspirations, rather than on stereotypical social expectations.
These professions are disappearing in the blink of an eye
Artificial intelligence is changing the face of many professions. According to the report, by 2025, AI will eliminate 75 million jobs worldwide, but at the same time create 133 million new ones. This means that we must be prepared for continuous learning and adaptation to new conditions.
The aforementioned report, ‘Future of Jobs 2025’, also points to professions that may lose their significance. These include:
- Office workers and secretaries
- Cashiers and ticket sellers
- Administrative assistants and executive secretaries
- Postal workers
- Bank tellers
- Data entry operators
These professions no longer exist
See how quickly the labour market is changing. Just 10-15 years ago, there were professions that are now a relic of the past. Do you remember… Telephone operators? VHS video rental clerks? Darkroom photographers?
Remember that by 2030, up to 78 million new jobs are expected to be created. This is a huge opportunity for all of us. Let’s be ready to seize it!
