CV in English – the most useful phrases!
Are you looking for a new job? Planning to change industries? Want to make a good impression in English? Start with useful phrases that will help convince the recruiter to hire you.

Stand out or perish! This rule also applies when preparing your CV. What phrases should you use to avoid sounding clichéd?
Project management. ‘I led a project…’
If, for example, you managed a project, instead of using the word “lead” or ‘led’ in the past tense, use other, less common phrases:
- Chaired – I chaired
- Controlled
- Coordinated
- Executed – I had an executive position
- Oversaw – I supervised
Avoid overusing the word ‘leader’; it is very common on LinkedIn.
Example: Oversaw a huge insurance project to completion – I supervised a large insurance project from start to finish.
